By installing MMI Box, you get the following features:

  • Apple CarPlay

  • Android Auto

  • Screen Mirroring

  • MirrorLink

  • Video in Motion

Android specifications:

  • Operating system: Android 13.0

CIC (Central Information Computer) is another generation of navigation system, which was introduced in BMW models in 2008. In this model, there are two options for adding Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The first option, described above, is replacing the original display with another one that supports all of the functions described above. A screen with built-in Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Android navigation, is available.

APPLE CARPLAY: F-Series

BMW NBT (Next Big Thing) is an infotainment system used in BMW cars. It is the successor to the older CIC (Car Information Computer) system and offers more modern and advanced functionalities.

The NBT system was first introduced around 2013 and gradually became standard in many BMW models. It was later upgraded with NBT Evo (Evolution).

With the NBT system, software activation of OEM Apple CarPlay is not possible. The only option is to install an MMI Box. The functions supported by the module have already been explained in CIC.

NBT Evo (Next Big Thing Evolution) is an updated version of the NBT infotainment system used in BMW vehicles. It appears in vehicles manufactured around 2016.

It is part of the next generation of technologies introduced by BMW and offers significant improvements compared to the original NBT system, including Wi-Fi Hotspot capability and software activation of OEM Apple CarPlay.

This is the first infotainment system that offers software activation of OEM Apple CarPlay, and we can also offer remote activation.

Unfortunately, NBT Evo does not support Android Auto and the only option to get it is through an additional module.

Note: it is possible that your car has NBT Evo, but has IDRIVE 4 and looks like NBT. For reference, you need to send us a photo of the map version you currently have.

For cars equipped with NBT EVO, we offer a navigation package that includes: Apple CarPlay, Screen Mirroring, Video in Motion and Map Update. Some of the cars may require a Wi-Fi antenna to be installed.

eNTRYNAV 2

BMW EntryNav2 is a basic version of the infotainment system used in some BMW models, usually in lower trim levels.

It is the successor to EntryNav and offers basic navigation and multimedia functions, but with more limited capabilities compared to more advanced systems such as NBT or NBT Evo.

Apple CarPlay activation is possible with EntryNav 2

NBT Evo iDrive 5 is an infotainment system used in BMW cars. NBT (Next Big Thing) Evo is the successor to the previous NBT (Next Big Thing) system and offers significantly improved functionality and performance.

With NBT Evo systems with IDRIVE 5, a switch to IDRIVE 6 can be made.

With NBT Evo we get the opportunity to activate OEM Apple CarPlay and Screen Mirroring.

In some cars, it may be necessary to install a Wi-Fi antenna. It will be provided by us.

Our EVO FULL PACK service includes: Software activation of OEM Apple CarPlay, Screen Mirroring, Video in Motion, Map update to the latest version, as well as the ability to activate additional hidden functions.

Entrynav 2 is an infotainment system installed in more basic BMW models. It is the successor to the original Entrynav system.

Some cars with Entrynav 2 have the option for activation of OEM Apple CarPlay, but not all have a Wi-Fi antenna port, which limits this option.

ENTRYNAV 2

MGU (Media Graphics Unit) is BMW's infotainment system, which succeeds NBT Evo. This system is introduced in newer BMW models, offering even more advanced functionalities and connectivity options.

Here, for the first time, we have the option of software activation of OEM Android Auto. Activation of OEM Apple CarPlay is also an option.
